Mira Hormone Tracker: A Personalized Approach to Cycle &
Hormone Health
At Seattle Fertility Acupuncture, we believe that understanding your hormones is a powerful step toward optimizing fertility and overall well-being. We love and utilize blood hormone testing, especially for Day 3 labs or post ovulation progesterone to confirm ovulation. There are some cases where a snapshot picture of your hormone levels one or two days of your cycle if not enough. If your cycles are irregular, changing, or very long it can be useful to know if ovulation is occurring and if they hormones are working in a synchronistic way. Ovulation predictor kits can also be misleading since they are only tracking LH.
The Mira Hormone Tracker is one of the tools we use to gain precise, real-time insight into your unique cycle patterns—allowing us to tailor treatment with greater accuracy and effectiveness. Use your own tracker, buy one through our portal or rent one at a discounted rate. We also offer a rent to own option as well as a buy back option for units purchased through our clinic.
We recommend you use Mira daily for 1-3 months so we can begin to see trends in your cycle and correlate them with symptoms. Your Mira tracker interfaces directly to our login portal. We can login anytime, view your levels and adjust our treatments accordingly.
What is the Mira Hormone Tracker?
Mira is an at-home hormone monitoring system that measures key reproductive hormones through urine testing, including LH (Luteinizing Hormone), E3G (Estrogen metabolite), PdG (Progesterone metabolite) and FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone.)Unlike traditional ovulation predictor kits, Mira provides quantitative hormone levels, not just a positive/negative result. This allows us to track hormone trends across your entire cycle, not just ovulation. The data collected is not blood serum levels but metabolite levels. The trends are the same as if you had a blood test everyday, but the numbers cannot be compared to blood serum levels.
How We Use Mira in Clinical Practice
By integrating Mira data into your care, we can:
- Pinpoint ovulation timing more precisely
- Assess the quality of the luteal phase
- Identify subtle hormonal imbalances
- Correlate symptoms with hormone fluctuations
- Customize acupuncture and herbal treatment protocols
This level of detail helps us move beyond generalized cycle tracking and into truly individualized care.
Applications for Fertility
Mira is especially valuable for individuals trying to conceive, as it helps identify common but often overlooked issues. Suboptimal progesterone levels can contribute to difficulty conceiving, early pregnancy loss and premenstrual symptoms.
With Mira, we can monitor progesterone trends and support them through acupuncture, nutrition, and herbal medicine.
Tracking Estrogen via E3G provides insight into estrogen patterns, helping us identify low estrogen (impacting follicle development) or Estrogen dominance (often linked with PMS, heavy periods, or fibroids.)
Other common conditions Mira can help us identify and treat include:
Luteal Phase Defect
Low or insufficient progesterone (PdG) after ovulation can impact implantation. Mira allows us to confirm whether progesterone rises appropriately and stays elevated long enough to support pregnancy.
Anovulation
Some cycles may appear regular and even have a positive LH surge, but lack true ovulation. By tracking LH and PdG, for the entire cycle, Mira helps confirm whether ovulation actually occurred.
PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)
For patients with PCOS, cycles can be unpredictable. Mira helps:
- Identify delayed or multiple LH surges
- Confirm ovulation when it occurs
- Track response to treatment over time
Irregular Cycles
For those with inconsistent cycle lengths, Mira provides clarity by:
- Mapping hormone fluctuations
- Identifying patterns
- Helping predict fertile windows more accurately
Applications for Perimenopause
Hormonal shifts during perimenopause can feel confusing and inconsistent. Mira offers a clearer picture of what’s happening beneath the surface.
We use Mira to:
- Track fluctuating estrogen and progesterone levels
- Identify cycles with or without ovulation
- Understand changing cycle patterns
This information helps guide treatment for symptoms such as:
- Irregular or heavy periods
- Sleep disturbances
- Mood changes
- Hot flashes
- Fatigue
- Low Libido
- Difficulty conceiving in late reproductive years
Connecting Symptoms with Hormone Patterns
One of the most valuable aspects of Mira is the ability to correlate how you feel with what your hormones are doing.
For example:
- PMS, anxiety, or spotting → may correlate with low progesterone
- Heavy bleeding or breast tenderness → may indicate estrogen dominance
- Delayed ovulation → may relate to stress, PCOS, or blood sugar imbalance
By combining your symptom history with hormone data, we gain a more complete understanding of your body—and how to support it.
A Tool Within a Holistic Approach
Mira is not a standalone solution—it’s part of our comprehensive, integrative approach that may include Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, supplements, nutritional guidance, lifestyle support, low level laser therapy or acupuncture point injection therapy.
Together, these therapies work to restore balance, regulate cycles, and support your hormones in every stage.
