Gentle prenatal chiropractic care with Dr. Bergfors
When your baby is breech, it is natural to want every safe, supportive option available. Dr. Bergfors offers Webster Technique care to help support pelvic balance, reduce tension, and improve comfort during pregnancy.
The Webster Technique does not manually turn the baby. Instead, it is a gentle chiropractic approach focused on the pelvis, sacrum, muscles, and ligaments that support pregnancy.
What is the Webster Technique?
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment commonly used during pregnancy. Its goal is to improve pelvic and sacral function, which may help create a more balanced environment for baby’s movement. The ICPA describes Webster as focused on reducing sacral/SI joint dysfunction and improving pelvic neuro-biomechanical function.
Can it help with a breech baby?
Many expecting parents seek Webster Technique care when their baby is breech or transverse. While Webster care is not a medical procedure to turn a baby, improving pelvic balance may help reduce tension in the surrounding structures and support your body’s natural movement.
For medical breech management, your OB or midwife may discuss external cephalic version, or ECV, which ACOG describes as a procedure to attempt to turn a breech baby from the outside.
